Consider for a moment how stressful it would feel to carry a heavy weight around with you every time you went in public. After walking around for just a short time this weight would be so unbearable that you’d want to drop it. But you can’t put in down, you have to carry that burden every where you go.
This is the reality for millions of people everyday that experience an Anxiety Panic Attack. To make it worse when you experience an Anxiety Attack you can feel so alone and isolated from the rest of the world. For those that are unaware the symptoms of an anxiety attack include; shortness or uncontrollable breath, sweaty palms, the feeling of panic, depression and a limitless pressure that feels like your going to burst. This is the reality for many people that experience anxiety attacks.
There are many situations where people can experience an anxiety attack and for many different reasons. The key to overcoming these anxiety attack symptoms is by replacing the existing symptoms and behaviours with new positive experiences. Effectively they must find a way to break the cycle. Understand, for some people this is not simple and as a previous sufferer of Anxiety Attacks I am aware how crippling it can feel at times. The key as a friend or family member is to understand no matter how little or ridiculous it may seem, this is the reality for many people suffering these attacks. The most important thing is to offer support and understanding, to help them to find a positive structured method to overcome their anxiety attacks, to regain that control and move forward.
Ok, the title is a bit lame, but I wanted to get your attention. I was talking with a friend of mine the other day and they were telling how much stress they experienced everyday. The conversation came to the point where they asked me how I manage to look so Stress Free all the time. Well, truth be known, I experience Stress just like everyone else (even though I dress like spiderman), but I have some really good Relaxation Techniques that help me to get control and keep moving forward. But we’re not here to talk about that, what I am here to talk about is my friends lifestyle, AKA, his whole life package.
Without going too far into it … his life sucked! He was facing a divorce, was overweight, worked heaps of hours and was going down hill fast with Stress! Here he was asking me ‘Come on Donny, give me the low down on some good Stress Relaxation Techniques.’
In reality he was experiencing stress as a result of his lifestyle. In my mind I was thinking … what do you expect? You jam your body full of crap food; you work heaps of hours without sharing any quality time with your family, and you don’t have any good Stress Relief Techniques to help you release.
So my little monkeys listen good and hard. One of the major steps to living a Stress Free life and making it easier to experience Stress Relief is through your lifestyle. If you focus too much on the wrong things you will end up where my friend is right now. Use Balance and moderation, develop and take care of your relationships and hey, would it hurt you to eat some healthy food? This along with a balanced Natural Stress Relief program will ensure you my friend, will be happy, healthy and will truly experience Stress Relief.
Finding the right Stress Management Technique it’s all in the mindset. What do I mean when I say mindset? Let me explain. If you take on a new task you’ve never done before and you don’t really think it will work, how do you approach it? Do you run in arms open expecting great things, or do you hold back a bit expecting it to fail. The way you look at or approach a task is in your mindset. If you expect something to fail usually you will be rewarded with … failure. But of course you knew it would fail, Right?
This is the same with Stress Management. If your try Stress Management Activities and you think they suck even before you do them, then you’ll more than likely confirm they suck without really giving them a go.
Keep an open mind. You never know what Stress Management Tips could work. It could be the difference to an excellent result where you feel complete Stress Relief, or feeling even more stressed and out of control.
Flying scares so many people and there are several different reasons why. It could be the fear of heights, fear of falling, fear of death, fear of confined spaces, fear of pain and I’m sure there are more but these are the main ones. There are even some people that feel the start of an anxiety attack when they think of flying. We all know those anxiety attack symptoms I’m talking about – increased heart rate, sweaty palms, increased breathing, butterflies and for many that feeling of pressure pushing down on them. But do you want to overcome this fear? Even if your answer is Yes, there are several steps you need to take to overcome your Fear of Flying and get rid of that nasty anxiety panic attack.
One instant step is to approach your fear with logic. Ask yourself – is this a rational fear? What is the actual chance you will be harmed by flying? Sure there are a lot of Tv shows that show plane incidents, but how many are safe? How many incidents are there with cars compared to planes?
These are some of the questions you need to answer when looking at tackling that fear of flying. Like most fears that cause anxiety attacks you will find they are irrational. Don’t think for a second I’m trying to bag you, I also had a fear of flying. I used to experience an anxiety attack every time I flew. My symptoms of an anxiety attack were similar to everyone else’s, but one of the steps I took to overcome this fear was by understanding
Is it a rational fear? Of course this is only one step and alone may not help you to overcome the fear of flying the any further anxiety panic attack.
There aren’t many things that test my patience nowadays, but I have to admit sitting in traffic drives me bonkers! All the relaxation techniques I have learned in my lifetime seem to go out the window when I am stuck in traffic. Which tells me learning how to remain calm in a car would have to be one of the best stress relaxation techniques available.
Of course we all handle things differently, and certain things push our buttons that would never affect the next person. But driving seems to push more people’s buttons that many other areas of Stress. I mean some people are scared of driving and therefore would benefit from some sort of relaxation techniques for anxiety to calm their nerves. One suggestion I’ve heard is relaxation breathing techniques. You can use this breathing exercise when driving to calm themselves yourself from the lunatics around you. This may help you feel truly calm.
Another suggestion is to use visualization techniques for relaxation. You have to be really careful when using this technique as you are driving, you know what I mean. It can even be as simple as occupying your mind.
If you are travelling with someone else try a few car games. Simple games like creating words from each letter of a number plate, playing eye spy, or thinking of the number of countries and cities you can think of that start with each letter of the alphabet.
Whatever method you use I have always found any form of relaxation technique good. I mean, it’s better than sitting there building up your anger and bursting.
There are tons of different Relaxation Techniques to help overcome Stress. Many techniques involve popping a pill or taking an injection. But I am a huge fan of the natural/organic way of treating stress. After all … you never know the long term side effects when you go down the path of drugs.
A Recent Study by a professor at CCNY told his psych class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Here’s the low down on Bananas - Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses, conditions and overcome Stress Relief, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Here’s how one of the simplest Stress Relief Techniques can give you Stress Relief - Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
When you consider the number of Stress Relief Techniques out there isn’t it cool to think there’s a tasty fruit that will help with Stress Relief? I’m not saying if you’re stressed you should just pop a banana in your mouth and all will be ok. This should still be used in combination with well a well planned Stress Relief Exercise.
The first question so many people have when they read this title is … What’s a Jelly Head, and how can it possibly be related to Stress Management? Well the Jelly Head is lingo that has been around for as long as I have been alive and it usually is the result of years of built up pressure and stress. At some point if a person takes on too much pressure without ever using any Stress Management Activities they will eventually go … SNAP!
I’m, not talking death or serious physical injury, it’s that point when they just can’t handle stressful situations anymore. It takes a different period of time for different people to experience Jelly Head, but eventually when it does happen they find it hard to handle situations that would normally be a breeze.
The down side is this type of person is normally swept under the rug and tried to be forgotten about. So what can you do to stop yourself or someone you know from becoming a Jelly Head? The first step would be to explore different types of Stress Management Techniques.
